TAMIL NADU TEACHERS EDUCATION UNIVERSITY REGULATIONS FOR Four Year B.Sc., B.Ed., Degree (Integrated Teachers Education Programme)
To provide leadership in the field of Teacher Education through Degree and other programmes resulting in generating quality Teacher Educators, Educational Administrators and researchers by adopting a carefully balanced curriculum embedded with innovative practices.
This course is structured to cater the need of Senior Primary and Secondary Schools where the subjects are general in nature and students have to learn basic and fundamental concepts in the fields of Maths, Science, Languages and Social Sciences. So the core element of the course is based on primary concerns of teacher education and subjects within.
Mathematics is offered as a subject in the B.Sc., B.Ed Integrated degree. The Mathematics programme introduces the student to a range of Mathematical topics including Linear Algebra, Abstract Algebra, Real Analysis, Number Theory, Graph Theory, Modern Geometry and Statistics.
Mathematical Education topics are integral to the modules and aim to prepare students to become Mathematics specialists in the Post-Primary School. ICT is an important aspect of the courses. Students develop a facility with graphics calculators and get opportunities to use a variety of mathematical software including Cabri Geometry, Mathematica, Excel and specific post-primary school mathematical software including graph drawing packages.
A Candidate shall be eligible for the admission to the four year Bachelor's Degree Course in Education (B.Sc., B.Ed., [Non-Semester]) Provided that he/she should have passed the 10+2 or 11+1 Pattern.
